St. Louis SOTU Protest Coverage
As President Bush prepared to deliver his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, protesters gathered in St. Louis University City on Delmar to protest the war, the president, and anything else that came to mind. Members of "Code Pink" and "World Can't Wait" showed up to propagate their opinions but they were few in numbers and timid in their approach.

Ethics are Dangerous
The ongoing focus applied by governments and citizens to the issue of ethics is damaging to individuals and society in a way that makes the country's previous focus on "political correctness" look like Vermont's current attempts at dealing with child molestation. Every American's worst nightmare should be the forced judgment of an "ethical committee."

Man, Woman, or Defect
Religious freedom is eroding in Birmingham, and so is logical science. The Birmingham Christian Union has come under fire for alleged insensitivities within its constitution. Brits should be outraged, but likely they'll roll over and do nothing.

Spirit and Opportunity on IMAX
The overachieving NASA rovers that have crawled across the surface of Mars are finally viewable on the big [really big] screen. Distributed by Walt Disney with sponsorship from Lockheed Martin, the IMAX film is certain to be impressive.

January 28, 1986: Where were you?
January 28, 2006 marks the twentieth anniversary of the Challenger disaster. For many people of our generation this marks the first national tragedy that we were exposed to and the details of that day are deeply ingrained in our memories.

Zoo officials in Bangkok, Thailand have prepared a DVD of Panda Bear sex acts in order to encourage their rented pandas to get a little bit freaky. Oh yeah, baby.

World's Smallest Fish
While fishermen in search of world records may be interested in large fish, scientists in Indonesia have discovered exactly the opposite. The world's smallest fish. The Paedocypris progenetica.

Border Agents Flee in Fear
It has long been known that Canadian border agents do not carry guns. Such is to be expected after a dozen years of extremely liberal governing in the northern country. And on Tuesday it became obvious that the policy is a disaster.

Illinois FOID
If you’ve ever hunted in Illinois, it is likely that you’ve been in at least one “FOID” discussion with an agent or salesperson. Firearm-Owner Identification cards, or simply FOID Cards, are little plastic bits that entitle you to practice your 2nd amendment constitutional right. Of course, without the FOID, your second amendment rights don’t exist in Illinois. And for hunters in Illinois who cannot get one because the processing office is 50 days behind in issuing new cards, watch out. You are suddenly a felon.

Children Define Alcohol Laws in Missouri
Republican State Senator, Bill Alter, has proposed a bill that would revoke the liquor license of grocery stores if they sell you refrigerated beer in Missouri. So much for a quick beer run before the game starts.

Saddam Trained Terrorists
"There were no terrorists in Iraq before the U.S. invasion." How many times have you heard that? For all the loonies who actually believed that terrorists for some reason worked to avoid Saddam, here is a little egg for your face.

Marion Barry Needs a Gun
From NRA-IL Grassroots Alert Vol. 13 - Washington, D.C. has a gun ban, and gun bans stop crime. That's the ruse the gun ban lobby and their cronies would have you believe. That's what Washington, D.C. Council member and former mayor Marion Barry (D) would have you believe. But, in an ironic twist of fate, Barry's anti-gun premise has been challenged by circumstances involving none other than Barry himself.

Open Anything - no Solution for Patent Woes
Microsoft's recent browser tweak in response to patent infringement has launched a thousand voices in favor of open-source and open-standards while decrying the company from Redmond, WA and the U.S. Patent system. Unfortunately, in their zealotry, those voices have failed to suggest a legitimate solution to patent-infringement woes, and have completely ignored the compounded dangers of patent infringement combined with open-source software.

Email Time Capsule
In one of the infamous "Back to the Future" movies, Doc mails a letter in the mid 1800’s that isn’t delivered until the mid 1900’s. While I wouldn’t trust the post office to get such a request correct, Forbes is offering a similar email service…
