Obama: Delusional or Deceptive?
With support for his beloved health care plan withering, Obama’s strategy is shifting. For the first time, he actually seems concerned about costs. Listen to his words, however, and you’ll realize that the mistruths reveal his complete lack of concern... or perhaps his lack of understanding.
After declaring that “The stars are aligned,” (is this an official policy endorsement from the universe?) Obama went on to defend his health-care agenda by suggesting that he wants it to be fiscally sound. He actually went as far as to suggest that government-run health care is necessary for the recovery of the economy. And then he crawled even deeper into the muck:
In an odd boast, the president said his administration has already reduced the 10-year deficit projection from $9.3 trillion to $7.1 trillion.
"Now, that's not good, but it's $2.2 trillion less than it would have been if we had the same policies in place when we came in," Obama said, blaming the Bush administration for the scope of the deficit.-FoxNews
Goodness. You’d think he was the savior. Let’s shed some light back in the direction of reality, shall we?
According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in March of this year, cumulative deficits were predicted to be $4.4 Trillion. This number was based upon the budget that Obama inherited when he took office.
After announcing his “new” budget, the CBO was forced to recalculate their numbers. Under Obama’s plan, the CBO projected cumulative deficits of $9.3 Trillion. Nearly $3 Trillion dollars more than Obama inherited! -Spectator.org
Now, Obama doesn’t argue the $9.3 Trillion figure. In fact, he is gloating that he has managed to bring a projected $9.3 Trillion deficit down to a mere $7.1 Trillion. Which might be great... if he hadn’t inherited a $4.4 Trillion deficit and increased it to $9.3 Trillion in the first 6 months of his first term!
Is he delusional? Or is he trying to deceive us all?
Note to Obama: You have INCREASED the deficit.
